Understanding...

Although it’s hurtful and frustrating to say but I have several(almost all)extended family members who have never seen or acknowledged Danilo and Maysa's arrival into our family. I try not to get bitter, but it has been really hard especially since Danilo will be celebrating his one year homecoming the end of March. I can't figure out why people are the way they are and expect you to bend over backwards for the birth arrival of their children but they can't do the same? I came across this poem on someones blog---although I still don't understand why their is no acknowledgement I can feel better in reading that it's their 100% loss that they choose to be the way they are.

YOUR CHILDREN ARE YOUR CHILDREN-
BIOLOGICAL, ADOPTED, OR BY MARRIAGE...THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN!
REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, COUNTRY, OR SPECIAL NEEDS...THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN!
IF OTHERS DO NOT ACCEPT THEM, THEN THEY HAVE NOT ACCEPTED YOU.
IT BECOMES THEIR LOSS AND THEIR ISSUE, NOT YOURS

How very sad! Your children are all gorgeous. I have to agree with your poem.. their loss not yours!! Forge on ahead sometimes you will find that friends are better supporters than family!!

Thanks for your advice and stopping by my blog!
I'm so sorry to hear about your extended family members. My sister in law e-mailed us when we were picking up our first adopted child and she told us to take her off our mailing list. We wrote back and said no problem what so ever. If she did not accept him, we did not want to acknowledge her. Sad but she made the choice. She and you family members should be the sad ones because they are the ones missing out on these beautiful children!

Take care and God bless!!!

Thanks Stacy!
So far, we have only introduced her to our little old lady dog, who barely can walk form one room to another (lol) and she is still terrified! My other 4 (yes, i have 5 total!) have been either stuck in our back room or outside until she falls asleep. I know in time she will be fine. At least I hope!!! lol

We have some of those too....I agree it's their loss and it's a much bigger loss than they will ever realize.Your family is beautiful!
